Fantastical… Wrap-Up, Site Updates, and General Updates

It’s been over a week since The Fantastical Adventures of [Not] Being With You closed at Blue Elephant Theatre and I’m finally making myself sit down to acknowledge that. It was a wonderful show and such an intimate rehearsal period that it’s been one of the harder shows for me to leave behind. We did some great things, touched some people, and created something to be proud of. I’m really going to miss working with Ryan, Max, and Ina each day.

Though house numbers weren’t quite where I would have liked them to be, we had incredibly positive critical response, including a four-star review from Time Out that was published since my last blog post. Considering our Press Officer said that Time Out hadn’t even come to see a Blue Elephant show for over a year, that’s an accomplishment to be recognized. We are looking at ways for the show to live on, as performance and script. Of course, if anything comes through and becomes official I’ll post it here.

Lovely show gifts of a new super-Kraken and our beloved Kraken from the show. There are incredibly touching words inside those two cards, by the way. Trust me.

In other news, I’ve updated my site a little bit. Some tweaks to the Résumé pages, new versions of my résumé posted, updates relevant to my move to Toronto, and even a new candid photo showing an unshaven Justen. I’ve also been keeping busy with seeing theatre. Last week was One Man, Two Guvnors (which had a rather irritating and seemingly dishonest bit of audience participation that bothered me, but otherwise enjoyed), Occupied at Theatre 503, and The Sunshine Boys with Danny DeVito and Richard Giffiths. Tomorrow will be a double dose, with Posh and What the Butler Saw. I’m certainly cramming in a few London shows before I move to Toronto next month.
